News: Jenna Ockford Passes the PennDOT H&H and Permitting Procedures Class

Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. (PC&S), a leading engineering firm headquartered in Bucks County, PA, proudly congratulates Jenna Ockford, E.I.T., PC&S Transportation Engineer-In-Training, for passing the PennDOT H&H and Permitting Procedures course.

The course, which was held in Harrisburg, PA on January 13 – 15, 2009, was geared toward PennDOT project engineers, designers, and project managers. The course provides participants with an introduction to PennDOT Design Manual 2, Chapter 10 and focuses on the requirements and design procedures for hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of bridges and culverts.

The course also covers the development of an H&H report and includes the following topics: selection of hydrologic and hydraulic methods, waterway permit requirements, and FEMA considerations. A number of other H&H considerations, such as scour analysis, were also discussed in the course.
