News: PC&S Employees Raise Money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
| |
2/9/2009
Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. (PC&S), a leading engineering firm headquartered in Bucks County, PA, recently developed a fun and competitive way to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation the leader in research leading to a cure for type 1 diabetes in the world. PC&S employees were broken up into teams and competed against each other in a coin war to raise the most money. Each team did a great job and as a company, we raised almost $300 for the foundation.
PC&S chose to raise money for JDRF to help support the nephew of Christopher Wells, C.B.S.I., PCS Bridge Inspection Team Leader and Commercial Dive Supervisor. Chris’s nephew, Aidan, was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and has been dealing with the effects every single day. To learn more about Aidan, you can watch this Youtube video.
Like Aiden, many other children around the world are faced with the same effects of the disease. JDRF continues to make progress toward a cure for type 1 diabetes and through our fundraising, PC&S employees are happy to help make a difference.
