News: PCS Inspection Team Performs Emergency Flood Inspections

In June of this year, Southwestern Pennsylvania experienced severe flooding which led to concern over the resulting effects on many area bridges. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Districts 9-0 and 12-0, contacted Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. (PCS) to perform emergency inspections on the structures in question. PCS demonstrated immediate response in working with PennDOT personnel to mobilize diving inspection teams.

Immediately after PCS was contacted regarding the flooding, our inspection crews headed on-site to provide emergency underwater inspections to quickly ensure the public’s safety. Since 1996, PCS has performed over 400 emergency flood inspections. When serious flood strikes the Commonwealth, PCS has always shown immediate response in working with PennDOT personnel to develop plans of action, field work mobilization, and prompt recommendations for repair or rehabilitation.
