Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. (PCS), a full-service civil engineering firm headquartered in Newtown, Bucks County, PA, is proud to announce the recent award of an open-end agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) for statewide underwater inspections throughout Pennsylvania.
PCS will serve as the prime consultant for this 5-year contract with the PennDOT Bureau of Design and will work with subconsultants Specialty Engineering. Inc. and Prudent Engineering, LLP. According to PennDOT, the PCS project team provided a superior Statement of Interest (SOI) with the technical expertise necessary to serve the needs of the Department. Our inspection teams for this agreement will be led by highly skilled Professional Engineers, Certified Bridge Safety Inspectors, and Commercial Divers.
“We are looking forward to another successful open-end contract with the Department,” said Alan Jackson, PCS Underwater Inspection Manager. “We have worked on the statewide underwater inspection contract for the past 23 years and I am confident that our previous experience coupled with our familiarity with the structures will enable us to meet the Department’s needs.”
Since the inception of PennDOT’s Underwater Bridge Inspection program in 1987, PCS has successfully completed eight (8) consecutive open-end contracts for PennDOT’s Bureau of Design. The PCS Underwater Inspection team is highly skilled in using the Department’s BMS2 and I-forms for bridge inspection.
