News: Donald E. Rife Receives Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors’ Surveyor of the Year Award

Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. (PCS), a full-service civil engineering firm in the Philadelphia area, is pleased to announce that our Senior Survey Manager, Donald E. Rife, PLS, recently received the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors' (PSLS) Surveyor of the Year Award.
Mr. Rife, a member of the PSLS Bucks County Chapter, received this honor during the annual PSLS conference held in Hershey, PA on January 24 – 27, 2010. The Surveyor of the Year Award is the Society's highest honor. Mr. Rife has been very involved in the PSLS chapter and state-level activities for more than thirty years and has served in several leadership capacities, including state president, state director, and chapter president.
Mr. Rife has been a land surveyor for more than 40 years. He is a registered Professional Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and a licensed Professional Planner in New Jersey. He is frequently retained as an expert witness in matters of litigation concerning land surveying and boundary establishment, and has volunteered his time to speak about surveying issues to many civic organizations. Mr. Rife received his initial land surveying education in the military at the U.S. Army Engineer School. He then earned an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology at the Bucks County Community College. Mr. Rife is a member of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, National Society of Land Surveyors, and New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors. He is also a member of the Bucks County Technical School Advisory Committee and American Legion. We congratulate Mr. Rife on this very prestigious award!
