News: PCS Proudly Supports Engineers Week of 2010

 Engineers Week is celebrated in February of each year to recognize engineering accomplishments throughout the nation. In the Greater Philadelphia region, Engineers Week programs have been held continuously since 1953. The programs are sponsored by a coalition of engineering societies, government agencies, universities and major corporations which represents thousands of engineers.
Charlie DiCello, PCS Structural Engineer and event committee member, represented PCS at Saturday evening’s gala. This event was held on February 20th at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia, PA. His role in this event included organization of the gala event and collecting door prizes. This banquet is the main event of Engineers Week, where many individuals are honored and recognized for their accomplishments and awards in the field of engineering.
Beginning with our first President, George Washington who conducted engineering activities as a soldier surveying and mapping wilderness territories, engineers have helped build our nation from its founding. Engineers are essential for building and maintaining the systems that protect our health and safety, restoring and safeguarding our environment, and contributing to our economic future. PCS is proud to observe this week by celebrating engineering technology and innovation.
