11/26/2007
PennDOT District 6-0, headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, recently selected Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. to perform NBIS Bridge Safety Inspections for approximately 413 Philadelphia County, state-owned bridges.
“The selection for the Philadelphia contract is a direct result of our hard work and commitment to excellence,” said John Prybella, P.E., President of PC&S. “Our bridge inspectors have performed exceptionally well on other District bridge inspection agreements and I am confident they will continue to exceed Department expectations.”
PC&S and sub consultant, Specialty Engineering (SEI), will provide the district with highly experienced teams of technically proficient inspectors, capable of delivering a quality product in a timely fashion. Our devoted staff are comprised of PennDOT BSTIC certified bridge inspectors whom regularly attend Departmental courses and are thoroughly familiar with PennDOT standards and bridge safety criteria.
PC&S will dedicate multiple primary inspection teams to conduct two cycles of bi-annual bridge inspections on each of the estimated 413 bridges over a four year period. The inspections are scheduled to begin in February 2008.
“Our inspection teams are highly experienced in a variety of larger, more complex structures which are commonly found in Philadelphia County,” said John Wilhelm, P.E., Bridge Inspection Manager of PC&S. “We are familiar with many of the bridges in Philadelphia County, having conducted inspections for the District in 1999 to 2000 and again in 2001 to 2002. We look forward to the opportunity to continue serving PennDOT’s needs.”
