News: PC&S Performs Emergency Bridge Inspection on Interstate 95
| |
3/26/2008
On Wednesday, March 19th, PennDOT called on Pickering Corts & Summerson’s (PC&S) Bridge Inspection group to perform an emergency inspection on the steel and concrete overpass that carries Interstate 95 over Richmond Street in Philadelphia PA.
Earlier in the week, a 6-foot crack in the 15-foot tall column was detected. This discovery led transportation officials to close the three-mile stretch of the highway. The PC&S Inspection Team was brought on the scene early Wednesday morning to make sure there were no other problem areas under the I-95 viaduct before reopening the highway.
Watch an exclusive interview with PC&S’s Bridge Inspection Division Manager, John Wilhelm, P.E., on 6abc news.
