The township was studying stormwater’s effects on streams. A possible solution is to promote infiltration of stormwater. The township needed to know where there was open land with suitable soil for infiltration. The map was created by overlaying a TMP coverage over aerial photography. A soil coverage was then made to be transparent, and laid over the previous coverages. By overlaying parcel information, aerial photography and soils, one can quickly determine the best land use practices for an area.
