John A. Prybella, P.E., President
John Prybella is the fourth President to lead Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. since our incorporation in 1962. He joined our firm in 1985 and has since served in a number of management and corporate positions, including his current position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has a long history of serving as Project Manager or Project Engineer on numerous Transportation projects. His engineering background complements his leadership abilities and provides him with added insight vital to leading an engineering firm.
John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. He is an active member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
Wayne R. Johnson, R.L.A., Vice President and Manager of Site Development
Wayne Johnson joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. in 1995, bringing twenty-five years of experience in land planning, site design, landscape architecture, site analysis, environmental impact analysis, and environmental planning. He manages our Site Development services and has overseen the successful completion of several hundred projects, each designed by a diverse group of landscape architects, land planners, engineers, and surveyors. Wayne was elected Vice President of our company in 1998 and, since then, has served on the Board of Directors.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University. He is a Registered Landscape Architect in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Wayne is an active member in the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), including the Pennsylvania/Delaware and New Jersey Chapters.
Robert J. Snyder, P.L.S., Manager of Land Surveying
Robert Snyder joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. in 1982. His vast experience in boundary, topographic, hydrographic, highway, and large scale construction surveys, combined with his management of our survey operations, has helped build our reputation as one of the leading land surveying companies in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the PC&S Board of Directors in 2000. Robert obtained technical training at Bucks County Community College and Drexel University. He is a registered Professional Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. He is actively involved with the Bucks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS), where he has served as Secretary, Treasurer, and State Director. He was elected Chapter President for 2004 and 2005.
John C. Wilhelm, P.E., Manager of Transportation Inspection
John Wilhelm joined PC&S in 1990. He serves as Chief of Bridge Inspections, as well as Project Manager and Team Leader for our Bridge Inspection services. He has been involved with bridge inspections since 1987, and has since served as Inspector, Team Leader, Project Engineer, and Project Manager and provides structural engineering support. John was elected to the Board of Directors of PC&S in 2001.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. He is an active member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
James E. Maloney, P.E., Manager of Transportation Design
James (Jim) Maloney joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. with extensive experience completing and managing complex roadway and bridge projects for a wide variety of public agencies throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His experience includes all phases of project development from feasibility studies and environmental compliance through final design and construction services. He was elected to the PC&S Board of Directors in 2008.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, both from Drexel University. He is a registered professional engineer in New Jersey and has served on the Board of Directors as Secretary of the Southern New Jersey Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) since 2004 and was recently appointed as the 2nd Vice President in 2008. Jim is also an active member in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Association for Bridge Construction and Design.
Donald E. Rife, P.L.S., Corporate Secretary
Donald Rife has been with Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. since 1978 and has 36 years of land surveying experience. He is highly qualified in many types of land surveying operations, with emphasis on boundary and land development surveys. During his tenure with PC&S, he has been responsible for performing and supervising thousands of boundary surveys ranging in size from small lot surveys to large tract surveys composing of hundreds of acres. He has also been retained a number of times as an expert witness in matters of litigation concerning land surveying and boundary establishment. Don became a company shareholder in 1987, was appointed Corporate Secretary in 1999 and served on the PC&S Board of Directors from 2001 to 2007.
He received his initial land surveying education in the military at the U.S. Army Engineer School, followed by an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology at the Bucks County Community College. He is a registered Professional Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and a licensed Professional Planner in New Jersey. He has been an active and dedicated member of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS) for 27 years, serving as a chapter and state officer, culminating as State President in 2004.
Alan E. Jackson Sr., S.E.T., Underwater Inspection Manager
Alan (Al) Jackson joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson in 1984. Al serves as the Manager of the Underwater Inspection Group, utilizing his 25 years of experience as a Bridge Inspector and Project Manager. Al has extensive experience in the underwater inspection of Pennsylvania's bridges. He has been involved with the program since it's inception in 1987, and played a key role in the development of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Scour Evaluation training course for engineers and inspectors. He also served as an instructor for this course. Recently Al led PC&S's Underwater Group to the forefront of underwater inspection by introducing the latest, cutting edge technology for underwater imaging; a PC based high resolution scanning sonar. Al was elected to the PC&S Board of Directors in 2007.
Al received his Degree in Specialized Technology from the American Institute of Design in Philadelphia. He is a registered N.I.C.E.T. Level IV Engineering Technician and Bridge Safety Inspector.
Paul M. Gouza, Corporate Treasurer
Paul Gouza joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. in 1985. He has served as Corporate Treasurer since 2002 and previously served as the Assistant Treasurer. He is the Office Manager for our Corporate Headquarters in Newtown, PA and Center Valley, PA office. He also serves as the Collection Officer for PC&S. Paul has served on the Board of Directors. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Lebanon Valley College.
Patricia A. Richards, Asst. Corporate Treasurer
Patricia Richards joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc. in 1991. She has served on the Board of Directors, and is the current Assistant Treasurer. As Financial Manager, Patricia is responsible for the Corporation's Accounting and Human Resource functions.
Mark A. Havers, P.E., Director of Site Engineering
Mark Havers joined Pickering, Corts & Summerson in 2002. Mark serves as the Director of Site Engineering utilizing his vast experience as a design engineer. He successfully manages multi-faceted, multi-consultant projects, and site design projects. He has extensive experience designing and supervising the design for small and large residential and commercial developments. His technical expertise extends to coordinating team efforts, project design, staff management and construction administration. Mark was elected to the PC&S Board of Directors in 2008.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and he also received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Contracting from the Pennsylvania State University. Mark is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania. He is an active member in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASHE) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).
