Updates — PCS Performs Hydrographic Survey in Philadelphia

PCS Surveyor Nick Schwartz and Boat Operator Dave Shipton perform hydrographic survey of the Old Frankford Creek.

Surveyors from Pickering, Corts & Summerson performed a Hydrographic Survey of the Old Frankford Creek to determine the streambed elevations for a hydrographic analysis.  They also surveyed an existing abandoned Railroad Bridge that was built in the late 1800’s.  This survey is part of an ongoing project with PennDOT from the Betsy Ross Bridge ramp connectors to the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge (approximately 2.5 miles).

As part of the project, Delaware Avenue will be extended Northward over the Old Frankford Creek to Tacony Street, and will include a new ramp onto I-95. The project has been underway since 1992, and is estimated to be completed by 2030.

All PCS field operations are supported by an office staff of experienced engineering and CADD technicians responsible for importing the survey data into surface files used to develop the finished plans and documents.
