PCS’s experienced structural engineers and designers provide a broad spectrum of transportation design expertise to our state, county, and local clients throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

PCS engineers understand the engineering and project delivery requirements for the replacement or rehabilitation of transportation structures, and will ensure a high quality, low maintenance design will be delivered on time with the required permits and proper utility and right-of way clearances necessary to begin construction. Our resume of successfully completed structures over waterways or at roadway grade separations includes single and multi-span prestressed concrete or steel structures, box or arch culverts, retaining walls, noise walls, and sign structures for both interstate and local roadways.

PCS also specializes in the condition evaluation and rehabilitation of existing bridges with varying degrees of structural deterioration and/or scour. Hands-on visual inspections of existing bridges are routinely performed to ascertain the extent of structural deterioration and its effect on an existing structures’ load carrying capacity and remaining service life. We have evaluated, load rated, and rehabilitated conventional timber, steel, and prestressed multi-beam bridges and culverts, historic riveted steel trusses and timber covered bridges, steel through and deck girders, open spandrel concrete arches, stone masonry arches, concrete tee-beams, and concrete encased steel I-beam structures.
