Our Services
Bridge Inspection
The primary responsibility of PCS’s bridge inspection personnel is to ensure public safety and confidence in our clients’ bridges and to protect public investment in the infrastructure.
Our professional staff consists of experienced and certified inspectors, professional engineers, technicians, and commercial divers who are exclusively assigned to highway bridge and structure inspections. Since the beginning of our Bridge Inspection Program in 1979, our staff has performed well over 25,000 inspections in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware for clients in both the public and private sectors.
Our bridge inspection services are in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and our qualified team leaders are thoroughly familiar with the latest FHWA bridge inspection procedures and metrics. Our inspection personnel are trained in work zone safety, railroad safety procedures, and confined space entry, as well as in the use of fall protection equipment. Additionally, our staff is up-to-date with OSHA safety requirements.
Our bridge inspection personnel routinely perform a wide variety of inspection assignments ranging from small single-span bridges and culverts to large multi-span bridges and viaducts. Structures are located in both rural and urban environments and span a variety of intersecting features including roadways, railroads, waterways, and major utilities. Of the more than 25,000 structures inspected since 1979, over 500 have been in-depth inspections of major bridges, such as the 5,176′ long double-deck Girard Point Bridge and the 8,780′ long George Platt Memorial Bridge, both in Philadelphia, PA. This experience coupled with our ability to provide quality services and products has given PCS the reputation as the leading bridge inspection company in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
